Dr. Coulter has been a member of the English faculty at Lee since 1994. His areas of specialty are British literature, Nonfiction Writing, and Humanities.

He is currently researching interdisciplinary approaches to literature.

Coulter has prior experience as an editor/writer in the research office at the University of Tennessee and Oak Ridge Labs. While in graduate school, he was awarded editorial fellowships and a travel fellowship to the Shakespeare Institute in Stratford-On-Avon, England.

Dr. Coulter likes reading, target shooting, and walking his female Basset Hound, Cleo.
