Typical responsibilities can include media writing (news articles, press releases, etc); helping establish a plan for using local media and social media for promotion; planning and executing promotions for Red Cross programs, special events, and volunteer recruitment.

DESCRIPTION

Duties & Responsibilities
Outline the major tasks that the intern will complete

  • Exact duties may be adapted according to a student's program:
  • Plan and execute communication through articles, press releases, traditional media spots, social media and other channels to help promote various Red Cross programs and services
  • Interview Red Cross students and volunteers to get information for stories
  • Submit articles and press releases for publication to local news media
  • Develop a marketing calendar/newsletter articles
  • Supporting volunteer recruitment efforts through advertising and communication
