{"id":185,"date":"2017-03-27T08:01:44","date_gmt":"2017-03-27T12:01:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/leeuwebpages.wpengine.com\/ludic\/?page_id=185"},"modified":"2017-12-14T15:50:52","modified_gmt":"2017-12-14T19:50:52","slug":"history","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/webpages.leeu.edu\/ludic\/history\/","title":{"rendered":"History"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana,geneva,sans-serif;font-size: 14pt\"><b>History of LUDIC<br \/>\n<\/b><\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;font-family: verdana,geneva,sans-serif\">The precursor to LUDIC began in 1998 with the intention of founding a laboratory school for the Lee University College of Education focusing on children with special needs.\u00a0 The program was first housed in the Education Building on the campus of Lee University and included one classroom with two Lee student interns and a professor from the Special Education program overseeing the program.\u00a0 There were three students served that year.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;font-family: verdana,geneva,sans-serif\">LUDIC was formally established in 1999 with seven students, five of whom had a diagnosis of autism.
