WithMyWifeDr. Rolando Cuellar joined Lee’s faculty in the fall of 2003 as Assistant Professor of Intercultural Studies. Previously, he has served as the Pastor of the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Chicago, Illinois for twenty years. Dr. Cuellar received his Bachelor’s degree in Bible and Theology from Lee College, his Master of Divinity from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, and his Th.M. in Practical Theology and his Ph.D. in Intercultural Studies from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School of Deerfield, Illinois.

As a faculty member of the Intercultural Studies program, Dr. Cuellar travels with his students around the world. His most recent journeys include India, Zambia, Panama, Cambodia, South Africa and Honduras.  He is also involved in inner-cities ministries in Atlanta, Chattanooga and Cleveland.

His wife, Ruth, has a master’s degree in education from the University of Illinois and a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Lee (1982) and is currently a teacher at McMinn High School in Athens, TN. Cuellar and his wife are the proud parents of three sons: Kenneth, Hiram and Samuel. Kenneth is a graduate of Lee in elementary education (2005) and earned his Master’s degree in Teaching (2010). Ken teaches at Richard Edwards Elementary School along with his wife Esmeralda Placencia. They have been married since September 20, 2009 and have a handsome little boy, Luke. Hiram and Samuel are also graduated from Lee with Business Administration degrees (2010). Currently all of them live in Chicago.
