Traveling….

“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” ― Augustine of Hippo

“To travel is to live.” ― Hans Christian Andersen

“I read; I travel; I become” ― Derek Walcott

I love to travel.  And I love everything about it: hotels, adventure, eating out and the history of wherever I find myself.  This past March, I was lucky to travel to Paris, France.   I can’t think of a more beautiful city nor a city with a richer sense of history.  Here are a few pictures from my wonderful trip:

Summer Plans

“Knowing you have something good to read before bed is among the most pleasurable of sensations.” — Vladimir Nabokov

“I cannot live without books.” — Thomas Jefferson

“Reading brings us unknown friends.” — Honoré de Balzac

I will be out of the office from June 25th until August 4th and I have big reading plans for the month.  As I never seem to have enough time to read all that I want to read,  I plan to catch up on all my reading during my time off.  My planned books are:

The Seven Ages of Paris by Alistair Horne

The Churchills by Mary S. Lovell

The Return of the Prodigal Son by Henri Nouwen

Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte

Reconstructing Amelia by Kimberly McCreight

I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou

Paris: The Novel by Edward Rutherfurd

Obviously, I have Paris on the brain.  Let’s see if I can get it done!
